Living Holy in a Hostile World: An Exposition of 1 Peter was preached from the Grace Baptist Church Pulpit for much of 2014. In this letter, the Apostle Peter writes to elect exiles who find themselves in difficult circumstances because of their allegiance to Jesus Christ, in order to encourage Christians to Live Holy in such a context.
Our current Christian experience is not altogether different from that of the elect exiles to whom Peter initially wrote. In fact, all Christians down through the ages have endured difficulty, persecution, and oppression because they identify themselves with Christ. In our increasingly hostile world, we will do well to hear the words of Peter so that we might lead lives characterized by holiness.
This sermon series expounds on 24 ways we can Live Holy in a Hostile World.
